‘Burrano Parasol’

I loved the way the sun lit the parasol and showed off the lovely handmade detail.

‘Aiden’

Some friends donated their old black crockery to my stock of mosaic materials. As a thank-you, I made this mosaic of their beautiful baby son, Aiden, using some of that crockery, and a broken white plate of my own.

Emails are one of the most important tools for the business owner – they allow us to communicate with customers, friends, suppliers and staff easily and instanly. Most the time, we just click to send a email without a care in the world or a thought as to what actually happens to it.

When you send a email, your computer has to find where the email is going, convert it into a form that can be sent over the internet, through several thousands of miles of cables and numerous computers till it arrives ready to be downloaded by the person you sent it to. Once this person chooses to check his mail, the process starts again! OK, this is a very rough example of what actually goes on with a email but it will help illistrate a point that it is easy for things to go wrong.

There are so many factors as to why you send a email but it never arrives. Sometimes, they can just dissappear without trace into a black hole. Sometimes this maybe becuase of a large attachement or for a range of reasons. You may find your email is blocked by over protective spam filters. Usally however, you will get a delivery failure report message, in this message, it will state what went wrong, the most common of which is a mis-spelt email address. Other times it maybe the email address no longer exists or the server to which you are sending to maybe down. Whatever the reason, try to resend the email again and forward a copy of the delivery failure report to the website host.

Typically, the Vibrant Pulse hosting servers deal with thousands of emails a day off which the server will refuse a large percentage. STOP THE PRESS! Refuse a email? Yes, there are often emails that come into the VP Servers that are spam, blacklisted domains, incorrect spellings or emails looking for other recipiants not hosted on the server. The server will filter these out as well as try to find the correct place to send emails you send to. This is perfectly normal.

So, you got a problem sending or recieving emails? Check our previous post for some tips to check and failing that, check your account settings are correct and failing that, send us a copy of your message failure report and we will be able to tell you if you have a problem with incoming emails. 99% of the time, it is incorrect spellings of email addresses or is with the transfer of the domain name over to our hosting but worth checking everytime to be on the safe side.
