Sarah Case is a make-up and hair artist based in Devon. After a personal recommendation from another customer, Sarah approached Vibrant Pulse about designing some leaflets and revamping the companies image.
sarah caseAs a result of the request, we have started a journey we are undertaking with Sarah Case with the design of the logo. Sarah will be using and incorporating this into some advertising material.

The logo itself has gone down well and has been complimented by a range of contacts of Sarah both within the industry and customers.

The logo itself has been designed to incorporate the original brief, a simple yet bold logo.

To achieve her design, we have researched into her industry to come up with the result you see.

This is the beginning of a long journey we are heading on with Sarah with an end goal set by Sarah in mind. We are entering the second stage of this starting next week.

Mountlands Language SchoolMountlands Language School of Exmouth, have been customers with Vibrant Pulse after we first built a website for them back in 2009. The previous website was built to encourage and grow the junior sector for which the result was achieved ready for the new aims for a new website.

The new website has been designed to help build up a new area of the business whilst maintaining a professional feel to the company.

Powered by the VP CMS (Content Management System), the new website is easier to maintain and keep up-to-date and is just another example of how flexible the CMS is with any website design. The CMS has also had to integrate with third person software already used by Mountlands for student records.

We will be continuing our work with Mountlands and will be following the impact that the new site is having for the language school as they continue to develop and grow the business.

Thank you for using Vibrant Pulse website designers again.

Picks, Sticks, Strings and Things were one of Vibrant Pulse’s very first customers over 5 years ago and last month saw the closure of the Exmouth music store and the loss of a much valued customer. All is not bad news however and we would like to take this oppertunity to thank Carol and Terry for the kind words they left us as they retire to live in Bulgaria.

So from Lucy, Simon, Kevin and Daniel, good luck in your new life as we look forward to finding our about it via Facebook.

I would just like to say how excited we are at having chosen your company for our Daughter’s wedding. Ian was very sceptical about the whole of Kathryn’s wedding arrangement – he wanted the venue at a big Hotel in Torquay, and was not at all happy at her choice. That was until he met up with you at the Ness, he recognised how very organised and in control you are, and so enthusiastic about the whole event. We can now look forward to a wonderful happy relaxing day knowing you are part of it.

Thank you Jeanette.

This blog post is a little bit special and is not actually written by us at Vibrant Pulse. Instead of banging on about how Facebook, Twitter, SEO etc can help you, we thought we would start to invite others, who benefit from them to write about it in the form of a guest blog. Today, we would like to introduce Moose Allain from ‘The World Of Moose’ to the spotlight as we asked him:

“How do you use Twitter and how has it helped your business?”

I started on twitter as an experiment, determined to let it grow without really promoting it. I didn’t really understand what it was, I don’t think you can understand it until you participate, particularly because everyone shapes their own twitter. I tried to be original and entertaining right from the start and occasionally posted my pictures. My follower numbers began increasing when one or two people with good followings began to recommend me. Before long people were asking me if they could buy the work I was putting on line. I have received a couple of commissions via Twitter and I have also sold work to followers who have come to various art fairs, etc. up and down the country which I have tweeted about. I sell consistently through my website. Although I haven’t looked at how much of this comes through twitter.

I think it’s very important to not be constantly selling. I give a lot of original material to my ‘audience’ and they don’t mind me plugging my work occasionally, as far as I can see. If they do, they don’t tell me, or they just unfollow! Your audience is self-regulating in that sense, which is definitely one of the things which makes twitter a powerful marketing tool. (I don’t want to slip into marketing speak because I’m not qualified and also because I think there is a very human, social aspect to twitter of which marketing is only a tiny part. In a sense we are all ‘marketing’ ourselves all the time, but that’s a pretty horrible way to describe the subtle complexity of human relationships!). Nevertheless, it’s a sort of meritocracy where you can be rewarded with more followers for good tweeting – as far as I can see this relationship works well for creative people with something that people want to buy.

World Of MooseThere is a wonderful mutuality to twitter, you support the people you like by retweeting their ‘plugs’ and they do the same to you. Gradually you build a loyal following who you already know like your work and so are tolerant if not welcoming of occasional plugs. I think people follow me first and foremost because they enjoy the originality and variety of my tweets which are mainly verbal although I post my drawings as well. You get immediate feedback which is gratifying but also helpful. It has been an incredibly useful vehicle for trying out ideas and trialling products. For example we launched a range of mugs last year. I posted some of the early designs and got some great feedback, and also started to build some anticipation from people who wanted to buy them. When we finally went into production we sold out of our first batch pretty quickly just through twitter.

I think twitter has made a substantial difference to the way I work. Words, the enjoyment of language, have always been an important part of my work, both as an artist and in my previous career in architecture. As I draw I find words tumbling around in my head and twitter has been a fantastic vehicle for releasing/publishing these thoughts which would otherwise have fizzled off into nothing. Which is fine, because twitter is generally about amusing ephemera rather than profound epithets, but if you value what you write and archive it, as I do, you can transform it into something else. So for me it has increasingly become a creative medium as well as a social networking tool.

I know that my popularity is continuing to grow on twitter, but I think it’s because I have a genuine, individual and original voice. It is now starting to lead to all sorts of unforeseen opportunities and collaborations, which are changing the nature of how I describe what I do as an artist: film, performance, a lecture, illustration work, writing… it’s actually a bit overwhelming, but very exciting.

Thank you Moose.

Boot CampWe have recently been working with Zenergy to promote their East Devon Wellness weeks where residents are encouraged to adopt a

healthy lifestyle and take part in bootcamp and other physical activities. In addition to being coached by Royal Marine personal training

instructors, residents will take part in other physical pursuits such as Zumba and Yoga. Residents will learn about healthy nutrition,

and will follow a personal development plan aimed at building confidence.

The wellness weeks provide an opportunity for residents to immerse themselves in exercise and health related activities.

The aim is to bring about and support long term changing attitudes so that people continue to keep fit and eat healthily

when they return home. An after care service is also provided.

The website we have created has the Vibrant Pulse content management system, and has been designed with search engine optimisation

in mind. There is a blog section that can be updated regularly which will help the website increase its website rankings.

The website has been freshly designed with specific call to actions in mind. We aim to help Zenergy’s current and future customers

find the information they want quickly and easily so they can navigate the site efficiently with what is stage 1 of the build.

We’d like to wish the new business good luck in the future and we will be continuing our work for them sending out

monthly analysis reports for how the website is performing.

Stuart Line CruisesVibrant pulse were asked to design a site specifically designed for use on a mobile phone.
According to Ofcom, 34% of people in the UK use their mobile to access the internet. This figure is likely to rise and in addition, people are also using portable handheld tablets to browse the Web.

Mobile devices come in all shapes and sizes and it is important that internet users can read the information on the screen clearly, without access to a computer. People often want to find a phone number quickly, or in the case of Stuart Line Cruises, want to read the current timetable.

We have designed a simplified version of the full website specially for the mobile, and have had favourable feedback for the site from the statistical data we have collected so far. Being an easy site to update, the content is managed from the current VP CMS system they have running on the site.
